A brief history...

Clent Nurseries is a proud family-run business with roots stretching back to 1976, when Peter and Maureen Rampton first began growing tomatoes and lettuce. Nearly 50 years later, the nursery has flourished into one of the area’s most popular garden centres — but our passion for growing plants on-site has never changed.

Today, we cultivate our much-loved plants across 7 acres of greenhouses, 365 days a year. Our dedicated and friendly team are always happy to lend a helping hand, whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started. Alongside our home-grown plants, you’ll find everything you need to bring your garden to life — from compost and tools to beautiful furniture.

Set within 14 acres on Bromsgrove Road, the site has grown from Peter’s small tomato nursery to a thriving centre with 37 full- and part-time staff. We not only raise thousands of plants for local gardens but also source stunning specimen plants from Italy. Over the years, we’ve built a reputation for our high-quality hanging baskets, available in all sizes and budgets, and our extensive garden furniture department — one of the largest in the West Midlands.

What makes us special is that we’ve remained true to our family values, now proudly welcoming the third generation into the business. With easy access from the M5, we’re just a short drive from Wolverhampton, Worcester, and Birmingham — and we think it’s well worth a visit if you haven’t discovered us yet!

We’re always looking for ways to make your experience even better. In 2017, we refreshed our shop layout, and in 2019 we extended our Coffee Shop — now serving a wide menu that includes vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, along with homemade cakes, afternoon teas, and festive events.

Above all, we want every visit to feel welcoming and relaxed. Our staff are always on hand to share advice, whether you’re refreshing an established garden or starting out for the very first time. Gardening can feel overwhelming at first — but that’s exactly why we’re here to help.
